Doing water changes
So I had another thread on getting this acrylic tank. This guy had this fish tank sitting in his garage for about a year. That was given to him buy his friend that had used the tank for his turtles and this guy planned on keeping an aligator in the tank to raise him but never did. The tank measurements are 96 lenght 32 inches wide and 24 tall with 1/2 inch acrylic it is drilled with a 1 inch hole on one of the side for a sump. It Also came witha homemade stand that was built with 6x6 for legs and 2x6 for leghts and 1 inch plywood. And i got this for $100 the guy offered to drive the stand in his truck to my house since i could only fit the tank in my buddies truck so i gave him $40 for favor he did for me so all together $140 not a bad deal if i say so myself. Now on to the problems that i have to fix before i can even think of putting water in here.

1.The middle center brace was cut out i guess for easier access to the tank. So I will have to reconnect it. The weird thing was that it was just 1 center brace but it was like 8 inches wide.
2.The one problem i am worried about is that the top of the tank is not connected to one of the acrylic panel on one of the 96 inch long side and i will have to reconnect. Its also has a piece on the top of the tank that is cracked all the way through to the other side. So I am debating if I'll need to get a new top or just repair the old one
3.The are also a few scratches since it was only filled half way (for turtles) it is easy to tell where the water line is but i am sure i can buff all those scratches out. Since I put a little water on the scratches i couldnt see them which is a good sign. Still going to buff it out either way.

And pics will be posted tonight

After really studying the tank I think it was originally a DIY tank and not store bought. The stand is built like a tank i mean it looks like it could hold a 600 gallon tank the way it was built. The only thing i dont like on the stand is that the clearance from the floor to the bottom of the stand is only 18 inches but after that peice of wood it opens up to 28 inches
