Could be that they are M and F but no way to really tell. I have two silvers that have lived peacefully together for near 6 years. The first couple of years they were just a pair, then I moved them to a new tank and added a black aro. No issues, with the three I then added another black and the four have been fine for about 3 years. I even had a 5th in the tank for a couple weeks while I was finding him a new home.
You won't know if a third will work or not unless you try it. Just make sure if you do decide to attempt, that you have a separate tank to move one of the arowana to if things do go bad. If you do decide on a trio, I would recommend having at least a 450g 96x36x30" tank. This is what I have mine in and although I believe it is a bit cramped for my four 30" aros, I think it would be comfortable for just three.
So if I add a 18" n a 5" aro n keep them well feed they won't fight no no no ..its just luck if they don't fight

Wow u have that many super nice boss, I'm waiting to move before I get bigger tank ,these 2 in 180long ,with only 6 fish , yea I have another 180 and 125 tank So 6 years that's crazy how big are they if I may ask , r if u could post
Here in about 6 months when both of yours get to be around 24" it's gonna be quite rough in that 180g. You will have to keep the tank bare of decore and do your best not to spook them. Mine are all in the 29-31" range.
The top one is a male for sure, i cant tell the bottom one. i need a better angle![]()
Wow u can tell Let see if i hav another pic
