Nice tank and perfect example of a melaniae. Melaniae are totally worth it jhutch. Hopefully I can add some to my collection soon.

Those Xingu Type I or Type II?

All of the xingu I, II, III are the same fish, cichla melaniae. I remember here on a thread that had Wes saying that they were assigned those 3 names during various stages/looks of their lives when they first started catching them out of the xingu river.

I thought the type I, II, III means they are from different areas of the river... No? I was also told to expect slightly different looks for each, which makes sense to me if the first statement is true... they are from different stages of the river they are from different parentage creating slight variance... Just thinking out loud.

Ken's xingus are a perfect example of the variances these fish come in. His fish are from the same batch and not one looks like the other. He has the color of the rainbow going on.
