Here are the fry (8 weeks old) from my Parrot cichlid's third spawn on Feb. 22. They are 3/4"-1" TL. Looking like regular little 'Parrots' now.MVI_0308-001.jpg

man, I wish you were in the US. Congrats on the spawn.

Looking good! I can't see any runts or deformities. Have you had to cull many from the spawn?

Thank you. There are times when I wish I were in the US too. It's too darn cold up here, and the winter is so-o-o-o slow to end!

nice! Are they hard to breed?
They have a reputation for being hard to breed.

I haven't culled any yet. There are just a few that are a little undersized, but for the most part, they've all come along really well.

For some reason read "Blood Parrot". Anyways thats awesome man, you don't see many spawning Psticattus on here much less fry. Very cool!

Thanks Chris. I'm not into hybrids in a purposeful way although it does happen in my tanks. I have a male 'hartwegi' and a female 'sp. Coatzacoalcos' that have spawned several times and right now, a female 'hartwegi' and a male 'nicaraguense' have put down eggs. I don't keep the fry.

Great to see real Parrot Cichlids!
Thanks. I'm really high on this species.

Great job! Its the first time I've seen them at such a small size, even as fry they are beautiful fish!
Thanks Stan. I'm surprised that at such an early age, they look like miniature copies of their parents.
