how do you heat your tanks?

well another could be that one is open top while other is not.. one that is open top is at 80 to 82 now and other one is at 82 to 84, yet no heater lol, and ALOT of filteration/airatation so they dont suffer the heat. my south american tank has ich so the high temp can do some good :)

Your possible answer it right in front of you. Your air pump. If I don't have a fan on my air pump pumps out hot air to the tanks. This in turn puts the tanks temp up by 5-8f. Tanks running off can asters with no air pumps will be cooler and require more heat.

Lol.

I'm just an old in-tank heater person. if it's really warm in here they won't be kicking on anyhow.
