Guys I know this is not the forum for this but still have to say it. This weekend there is a fish competition in SoCal, no it's not pure bloods, but no one has ever tired a pure blood show. If you like cichlids and you like good looking fish, it would still be worth your time to just come check it out. It is not often their is such an opportunity in the hobby period especially in the States. One day I would really like to see a competition which also involves pure blood cichlids as well as FH or just pure bloods but that's not a reality at this point. Part of that problem is there are so many types, and people have their own preferences so a certain cichlid could be very cool but maybe only a hand full of people have them in any one area at a time. Currently though mostly thanks to Chris aka UmbeeKing the SoCal, and Cali markets are very heavily saturated with both Umbee and Festae. A show with these guys might actually be possible down here in the near future. Anyways I thought I would through this out there cause anyone who likes fish especially cichlids if you have nothing to do Sunday this would maybe interest you? If so there is a thread here on MFK under the flowerhorn section where you can get details.
On another trip-how many local guys would like to see a competition with pure bloods? Would you be willing to take the risk to move your fish for a day or two for the opp and chance at glory? What type of fish would you like to see, what would you bring?? Lets see what you all think?..
