Thanks everyone. I know losses like this are a part of the hobby, but its always hard to come up with a new plan when you have full grown fish in the tank already. It's hard to find something compatible to add even though the tank seems empty.

Hey man I'm sorry for your loss. I just got a silver on march 10 so only had him a little over a month but love this little guy to death. After reading your post I literally dropped my itouch and checked my tank for nicks and crannies in my fish tank. Again sorry for your loss. Get another one when your ready.

Such a horrible feeling finding a dead aro on the floor
I've lost a couple aros over the years this way and now I'm so completely obsessive compulsive about the lids on my tank, double and sometimes tripple checking the lids is a must before i go to bed or leave the house
Sorry for the loss! Another aro will quickly heal the pain

Tyler, dont know your tank situation for growouts but I recommend finding a baby black and growing it out for your tank. Maybe find another fish to temporarly fill the gap in the big tank.

Some day I would like to grow one out, but not right now. I may try and find something to fill the gap. I just always have to be careful with what I put in with the tig.

I know how you feel. mine was 17" and the same thing happened to me... came home from work to a dried up dead black.. this was about 2 yrs ago.. just ended up getting a few baby blacks from a vendor on here.. just not the same tho..
