Am I at the peak of my cycle? or did I mess up lol

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Heres an Update & I think im headed in the right direction at least sense Nitrate has established.

Ammonia .25ppm
Nitrite .25ppm
Nitrate 10-20ppm I couldnt hardly see a difference in the colors

Also my PH is 7.6 not 8.6 like the stupid walmart test strips have been telling me.

Just keep up WC everynight and feed little bits?

Actually thats not that bad...I would leave it alone and go back to weekly water changes but still add a little prime until your parameters are back to normal

Make sure when you get that 240 that its cycled for a month or 2 before putting in expensive fish...ive been in your position before, I killed all my bacteria on accident in my old discus tank the water got so cloudy that I couldnt even see the back of the tank...it took 2 months and ALOT of bacteria bought before it was back to normal

Well what my plan was to move the fish over as well as my FX5 and Two HOB filters all containing bio media shouldn't that technically be instant cycle?

Its possible it can be instant cycle...just keep all bio media in tank water during the move...dried bio media = dead bacteria

Also use the tank water from the 50 in the 240...that leaves 190 gallons of uncycled water tho so I wouldnt put the fish in there right away...good luck and keep updating...

Yeah theres gonna be tons if established media a loaded fx5 and two hob with like 2 mesh pads and 6 plastic pot scrubbers. I know water shouldn't really have anything to do with it but ill move that two lol why the hell now ya know. Ill keep ya all updated its still a few months away though my 3 inch fish still appear pretty small In the 50g wide lol
