Azul and Keiberi $10 @ Singapore?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nice! looks like a good catch :D

1. Supply over meets demand; hobbyists/farms take the opportunity to breed them in their backyard

2. Genetics weakened with subsequent spawns from F1 generation resulting in a probable problem -> HITH seen in Kelberis (HERE)

3. Sad but this is how our country works. . .

Not always do you see a decline in species genetics over breeding in captivity. Now, someone like this who is just TRYING to make quick money absolutely, I'll give you that. However I know plenty of reptile owners (snakes really) who breed the best of the best to try and make better. I can only imagine and hope someone out there attempts this with cichla as well

They have been gettn cheaper by the month. WIth their abiltiy to breed in their back yard ponds it makes the supply much greater. Awesome for the hobbyists! They have been putting out a lot of unique hybrids as well. We have seen the price of bahia's drop quite drasticly as well because of all the fry being produced in the US. ANother score for the hobbyists! I dont see anything wrong with "cb" cichla as long as the breeders dont start mass inbreeding and putting out deformed fish. Wild fish will always be in high demand but the captive bred fish will keep the hobby booming w/ the endless possiblities and selection. The "cb" also help keep the wild population....in the wild. We dont wanna see our beloved rare cichla become endangered like asian aro's and datnoids.
