thoughts on aliens?

Define intelligence. Everybody is a genius but if you judge a fish on it's ability to climb a tree it will live its life believing it's stupid.
 
I think wether they exist or not is irrelevant. We don't know everything about this planet/lifeforms yet so why worry about the next planet/lifeforms. Also I don't think we should be trying to make contact with any. We are likely to be easy prey if they already are capable of travel. Stephen hawking believes they exist and its in our better interest at least for the time being that we stay off the galactic radar.

Wouldn't that be more physical limitation than intelligence?
Anyway, using your example and to be as brief as possible, if the fish was able to figure out a way to climb the tree (problem solve) it's one step in the right direction to be considered intelligent.

I agree 100%, like I posted originally, humans aren't that special.

In my personal opinion I believe the ancient Egyptians were visited by a higher power (aliens) many thousand years ago and in turn treated them as gods. How else can u explain the pyramids, the sphinx and all the images of half man half beast portrayed in there images. Just my 2 cents ;)
