Tour through USA, can you give advice please?

Out of all the places i've been in 'Merica, my favorites as far as sightseeing goes were the National Parks, Yellowstone and Yosemite primarily. If you get a chance to, be sure to check out Niagara falls near in NY, and also the great lakes (specifically Lake Superior, or Lake Michigan) When we went to lake michigan we charted fishing boats and caught some huge salmon. Lots of friendly people in that area. I've also been to some of the larger cities (NYC, Reno, etc.) and I didn't like them nearly as much as I enjoyed the scenery in Yellowstone and Yosemite.
 
I have a general question. I will be the only one speaking some english. My parents can't speak english. Is that a problem? My english is average.
 
New York:

Statue of Liberty
The Metropolitan Museum of Art

9/11 memorial
Central park

SF:

Golden gate Park/Bridge
Fishermen's Wharf
Muir woods national park(red woods, right outside of SF)
Sausalito(on a sunny morning, best view of SF across the bay, eat breakfast then visit the redwoods)
Cable cars to see Lombard Street
Alcatraz(just an old prison with bird poop all around ;) )

That would be problematic. I suggest looking at group tours originating from NY, LA and SF...let me see if I can find some(I know Chinese ones :) )

Alcatraz. hm idk. Im not so interested in that. You say too its not that great haha
 
Also, are your parents in good health? Both Yosemite and Yellowstone are in fairly high altitudes. People with heart trouble should be careful.

To the NY part I would like to add Times Square and rockerfeller plaza. Very cool places to see even though I was sick @ Bubba Gumps and at the Concourse under 30 rock... poor cleaning ladies...
 
I would focus on national parks, they are our greatest asset. New Orleans is unique and fun but after that a big city is a big city, points of interest really is dependent on your interests. As an American I'm glad that I've been to the statute of liberty but without sentimental attahment it would be a disappointment. You're inline up the stairs look out the windows for 10-20 seconds and down you go. Central park is nice. The Empire State Building is worth checking out, the observation deck is a must see. There are some gorgeous state/national parks in up state new york that would be nice day trips. If time permits I recommend visiting Chicago, greatest summer city in the country.

yes, both my parents are in good health. They are in their mid 40th and not old people. ;p
