She is a great old dog. She is kind of the matriarch of all our critters, but she is getting really old and we will have to make some tough decisions in the near future.

That's something we all have to come to grips with sooner or later. Dogs don't live long enough, they become part of the family and we have to say good by much too soon.

I don't remember who said it but I recall hearing a comedian talking about puppies and saying that each puppy should come with a warning. "You are aquiring a tiny tragedy because they do not live long enough."

Nice RMorrow! My father has 2 labs that we use for waterfowl and upland hunting. They compete all over the US in field hunting trials. Heck, those dogs have been to more states than me, lol!

She ended up being a good huntin' dog despite my best training efforts. On 2 occasions she "argued" with me about where the down birds were and was right both times! My father-in-law suggested I let her drive home since she had a better idea where to go.

My Rhodesian Ridgeback, Lab, American Bulldog mix.

He doesn't hunt much but he keeps the bears away on a nightly basis.
