Tank mates for Jardini in 160g 5' tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Kept a 10" banded leprinus with a 20" jardini a while back, only fish my jardini respected. In the end though the jardini managed to flip the temp sensor out of the tank and the heater kept cranking. The leprinus didn't survive but the jardini did. It was not a good day. Still have the jar it's 22" now.

Jardini are crazy. U will rarely witness it abuse other tankmates but when u wake up in the morning, u will clearly notice the damage.

All my other tank mates have healed up deformed tail/fins due to jardini's beating. Sigh

How much do they cost, are you alright with loosing that money when it don't work out? If so give it a shot, seems that bottom inavtive dwellers that can hide have a better chance of survival.

A lot of people think you can't keep jardini with other fish but I keep my 15 inch jardini with a 15 inch jaguar. 18 inch rtg arowana. 14 inch paroon shark. 28 inch lungfish. 8 inch indo dat. And three 14 inch motoro stingray in a 220 gal. And he doesn't bother anyone that I've seen maybe chase the paroon shark a bit but I find that jardini just really target smaller aros so if there the smallest arowana then you shouldn't have an issues I find its even better to have a arowana that is larger then the jardini Cuz then the jar will know that he's not the boss I've also had him with other large silvers with no issue and this is my second jar people who think they must be alone haven't experimented with different size and species of tank mates

How does the lung do with getting fed and in general? I'd love a lung but I'm scared of it not getting to eat because of how slow they are or killing tank mates.

Sounds about rite , where do I begin on tank.ates for my jardini , well he's six now and 20" he's killed loads of tankmates over the years ( loads of big cichlids , inc flowerhorns and dovii ) , he's eaten a birchir , rtc and most recent a red wolf fish , I have however had some success with tankmates hes currently in with a 10" jag ( the sole cichlid surviour ) a pacu and lots of diff types of cats , irwini , Niger , channel , giraffe , clarius , plecs have all worked in my tank , if yours is anything like mine id stay away from silver fish and just try things out id go for large chunky cichlids that can take a fight like my jag or catfish poss big tsn or rtc , good luck whatever you choose , I want to put a ray in my tank but am scared of the outcome if goes wrong lol :D
