Hi guys,

I currently have a tank of bichirs and have red quartz sand in it and it really does bring out the colour contrast of the bichirs. However the down side is that sand is a little more troublesome to maintain. Was wondering for my new tank, will red oyama at the base and no sand give me the sake effect? Thanks in advance!

What is oyama? I googled it and it doesn't refer to substrate.

Red oyama should give the same effect as the red sand. I've seen a few people with red oyama. Looks nice.
