Actually I applaud their convictions. I just hope they put the same zeal into solving real problems in today's society.

I just watched this. This guy seems more offended that the owner being so "Defiant" that he will never change the name. Seems his argument is not with the name Redskins more to do with being Defiant in stating the name will never change. LOL If he only checked the facts looked into the history of the name he would know the name Redskins is not offensive to native americans. He is just ignorant he doesn't know the facts. But never mind the facts. He's more offended by the "Defiance" of the owner. What that guy doesn't understand is its not being dismissive its taking Pride in the name being proud of the name. Not going to let a few ignorant people decided what is offensive for people who are not offended.

Ill just ask one question. Would naming teams "blackskins" "yellowskins" "whiteskins" or "brownskins" be offensive or would that be ok?

The bullets change was crap. Not offensive at all to any protected class. But thats falls into a category of gun discusion which certain members decided to blow up and cause a mess so we cant discuss that.

One shouldn't need to answer this if you no the facts and the history how the name Redskins first came to be used by native americans.

If blackskins yellowskins whitskins brownskins had been used by any culture or sports team to identify themselfs and was used for the purpose of honor and pride I would have no problem with it. If any culture or sports team used those names and was not offended by using them. Should it still be offensive.

Does the word "Whiteman" offend you. If someone called a caucasian a whiteman would that be a put down. Native americans first called settlers the Whiteman. Whitemen called themself the whiteman is that now a derogatory name to call any white person a whiteman. If whitemen don't feel offended by that name should it still be offensive if 9 out of a 100 felt it was offensive. Should the word Whiteman now be considered a slur a derogatory word cause 9 out a 100 feel it is.

So you feel anytime a small percentage of the population gets offended by anything. The greater mass of the population needs to change and think like them.

The information is here if really want to know. You may not agree and that is your right. But it doesn't change the facts cause you don't accept it.

I'm not saying the word Redskins cannot be an offensive word. It can be and apparently is to a lot of people.
But should the minority of people feelings or thinking set the rules in this country. Or should majority set the rules for the majority.
There's not many things if any where 100% of the population agrees on any particular issue. But if we have a majority that favors one side over the other or if the issue was put to a vote and one side wins over the other should the losing side win cause they don't like it. You think that's how a democracy should be run where the minority the losing side sets or tells how the majority needs to think and feel.
