Cynotilapia Afra

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Google Cyno afra - nkhata bay, likoma, jalo reef, cobue & compare the pics to your fish & get back on which one you think it is... Can tell you what the females look like from there...

Females are much harder to tell part. Without knowing the collection point, which a reputable seller would provide, you may never know.

No question.. This would be pure speculation... Although Jalo, Nkhata, & Cobue all look different. It is subtle though..

Mine look's like a Cynotilapia afra (Nkhata Bay)..EXCEPT

First off mine is alot more lightish blue than that and has a lite purple tint to it.
The stripe's are black.
Where the Dark Blue on chin and all the way to first fin's. Mine is a lite yellow.
The anal fin is black.
The tail is black and yellow mixed.
and the dorsal fin is the same EXCEPT from the last stripe to the end of the dorsal fin is black and yellow mixed.

Maybe this will help idk but that is the closest looking one..

The first fish is a different fish than the next three, right? Has to be...

Anyway, the first photo doesn't look like Cynotilapia actually. Looks like a Metriaclima Long Pelvic Mdooka or Metriaclima sp; Red Top Gallireya. The lighting in the pic makes it tough to tell.

The other two pics look like Cynotilapia elongatus Mbenji Blue.
