Is my filtration OK for large cichlids?

Everyone has there own opinions. But realistically a 75 or even a 90 is grossly small for an adult oscar.

I have a friend with 2 12" oscars in a 140 and they looked crammed.

I dont see why people get *****ed at for housing a 2ft fish in a 6x2x2. But those same people say a 75-90 is ok for a 12"+ fish. Other then biological factors. Its the same damn thing.

Yet a lot of those same people will look at a tank, lets say 300 gallons, filled with fish to the point where they rub fins in passing and praise the skills of the keeper. They will go on about their experience in accomplishing this feat. How is this different?

That's a good point about the 2' fish in a 2' tank but oscars don't grow upto 18". So for say a 12-15" Oscar it still has 3-6" of room to turn around.

ok, you caught me. I'm trying to stop people from keeping oscars because I want to be the only one keeping them. then I'll finally be able to say I've got a rare fish.

Well I find it kind of weird that you kept this fish for two years but yet you don't one single picture of it at all.

Again, in my opinion 3" of turn space is pretty cruel. A 2ft fish can turn around in 2ft depth with not much more discomfort then 2-3" to spare.
