Is my filtration OK for large cichlids?

That's even if the o in question grows to be 15". I'm curious how a o is too big for a 75 but a midevil isn't. Yet they max around the same size.

I can see that some people dont take pics, I had a 500 gallon tank, all nice and pretty, had it for a month till the unforeseen happen, only pic i have is a cell phone pic of an oscar, ps, this was when the flip phone was king. so pic sucks.

what's there to be curious about? if a tank is too small for one species of 15" fish, 99% of the time it's too small for the other 15" fish. a 15" ropefish would be ok in a 75G, but not a 15" midas, or oscar.

yes, they had polaroids, how is that relevant? a polaroid is a camera, so if I didn't own a camera, obviously I didn't own a polaroid.

I'm curious because both are commonly said to be able to live life in a 75.

Great topic lots of opinions, this is what mfk is all about. My first larger aquarium was a 75 gal and I kept an Oscar for nearly 4 years he eventually needed a larger tank. So I gave him to a buddy with a 125.

I've seen a ful grown O at a store I went to yesterday and by the looks of it they would definitely outgrow a 75. An O maxes out at 12" but thats not always the case. You can get one that can grow up to 16"-20" long. You can probably keep an O for the time being and give it away or sell it when it gets too big. By the time your O reaches it's max size you're probably gonna have 5 more tanks that are suitable for his size anyway.

Still waiting for proof of one over 16 inches, and that doesn't mean a fuzzy pic with someones eyeballing sayso. Really want to see one 20 inches.

So was it a full grown oscar that was too big for a 75 or was it still growing and would eventually get too big?

Taking measurements and quick calculations I see about an average 12 -13 inch fish, not the 16-20 inch monsters that are being claimed as normal.
