what do you guys think? im gonna wait for a pair to form up and move them out at around 8-10 inches, the 180 should be ready by then. that big guy is maybe 3.5-4" now... can you sex it? its definitely the boss of the tank. i got them from liveaquaria at about 2"

I like jags. I haven't had one in a long time. I never could have anything in the tank with it though. No matter how much I moved around decorations. Cool pic. They are cool cichlids.

It's not too small to sex, but it's a tough one. At 4" they either look totally different from each other, or exactly the same. From looking at the pic, the black along its side seems to be fading, suggesting male, along with the spots.

I'll go out on a limb. Open mouth looks like a male and the one with the dark vertical barring looks female. I agree about your set-up too, looks nice, good aesthetics. Good luck.
