Well I've grown tired of my jardinis tank because he's a animal I can't have anything with him or he will kill it.

I've decided to go ahead and plant the tank but I'm not sure of a semi-cheap light and hardy plants that I can add to my PFS sandbed. (Ill add frets if need be)

Any info would be awesome thanks. Tank is 5x2x2.

In my 200G all i use is larger anubias... Works great for low light setups and is tough as nails... Perfect beginner plant :)

With anubias, almost any lights will do.., i've even heard of people using a standard lightbulb over there tanks and have been able to keep them alive...

So im guessing that depending on your lights (since im not familiar with them), that you should be fine...

It sounds like you're thinking of going with a low-tech planted tank, with low-tech planted tanks pretty much any kind of "light fixture" would work, but what's most important are the bulbs. I recommend 6500k or 6700k bulbs for a low-tech planted tank. Especially because it's a low-tech setup you can go with leaf feeding plants like anubias and java ferns for the tank, but remember that anubias and java ferns do best when attached to a piece of driftwood.

If you bury the rhizome on anubias and java ferns they will ultimately die, so again it's best to attach them to driftwood. Also I would suggest a bottle of flourish comprehensive, and dose it to the plants just once a week just to insure their health and promote growth. As for pool filter sand (PFS) if you plan to with any type of root feeding plants like amazon swords, vals, etc... please be sure to root tabs under them otherwise they'll slowly die off.
