Hi everyone, this is the first actual thread I have posted, so hello to you all. I'm glad to be a part of the community. Registered a while back but just now getting around to putting together a plan I've had for a while.
Anyway, I'm looking for a specific species of peacock bass that fits well with what I want. I used to have a peacock back when I was younger and I loved it more than any other fish I've ever had. So far I really like the Temensis with the very apparent, dark bars/stripes down the sides, but I may be interested in something a little more rare or exotic depending on how well it sticks to the identity of the typical temensis with the dark bands down the sides.
I am also wondering if this fish could be successfully coupled with largemouth and/or smallmouth bass. I understand that these fish come from different regions, different temperatures, and different conditions all around, but I also have heard that certain peacocks have been caught in Florida in similar areas to the largemouths. I would love to hear some input on this idea of mine, good or bad. Basically, my idea, if feasible, is to have a [single or couple]peacock bass in a North American set up, with the typical fish of North America to go along with it; such as bluegill, pike/pickerel, large/smallmouth bass, and so on.
