I took these pics from the National Aquarium in Wash DC. Can someone ID the Geo in the first pic. It is about 11 inch in the Amazon tank with severum, lot of columbian tetra, and a 2 feet long silver arowana. It's interesting that the arrowana will not lunch on the small tetra.

That's not a silver aroby the way.

And where is this. I'm less then 20mins outside of DC and have never been. I heard they have a LOT of freshwater way more so then Baltimore.

I need to check it out.

The National Aquarium of DC is the grandfather of the National Aquairum in Baltimore. It is located on 14th street close to Constitutional Blvd. When the Baltmore Aquarium was built, it was supposted to close down the DC aquarium, but private and federal donations kept it open. It's a small public aquarium, a fraction of the Baltimore size, but the entrance fee is only $10. About 1/3 of the tanks are fresh water, and the remainder salt. It used to have a Frontosa colony tank I love, but now replaced with a native fish tank.

The arrow is definitely a silver, and it could be 3 ft as I am not good at estimating length in a big tank. There is also a huge oscar that is at least 18", fighting with a pair of breeding severem. What is the name of the big red tail tetra fish above he arrow.

That is sad news Jonclark are you sure? Those pictures all look awesome. I have often envisioned (dreamed of) my own aquarium looking like that one day, but that would be way down the road. Tiger thank you for sharing these pictures hopefully this place remains open
