I want to make a DIY ugly canopy for my 55 gallon planted tank (it is to practice co2 before I put it on my 125) I want to use the curly Q light bulbs or maybe LED light BULBS my question is how many bulbs and what kind eather 6500K or 6700 if I can find it (for high light) I have read throw a MFK link some http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?73446-Lighting-a-Planted-Tank and can't quite understand it. so for the curly Q lights or LED BULBS how many thank you

you could go to the hardware store and get a big florescent shop light and put the correct bulb for it. you can get them from 1 to 4 bulbs in them. i think that you can get the fixture for less than $20. i may be wrong, but i think a full spectrum bulb will do you fine in one of them as well. when i had my bearded dragon my hardware store also sold them.
