My BP and male unfaded red texas had eggs. This is the second time.1st time was about a month ago. Well they all turned white and she ate them. I don't think he's fertile but then again I don't know. Guess ill find out. That's why I asked the question I did. He's about 4 1/2 inches and a year old.oh well fingers crossed.

depends. There are some that got to 2 years old to get fertile. Some never till they die. But there might be ones fertile right when they breed at whatever age but hat's the chance of that? Higher fertility chances are in the unfaded RT males. Breed one to a faded RT female. Bothh being the fader gene carrier will higher your chances of getting fader fry

I had a bro and sis bp/tex pair off at 7 months. Nothing became of the eggs but I would guess they mature around 8 months. Now I have a female bp/tex hybrid that faded at 2 years of age. So I personally know that fading at 2 years of age is true and can happen. Animal Guy... Have you seen a fish become fertile after 2 years or is that something you have heard? I ask because I have a female that has had 3 unsuccessful spawns with my fertile male tex and it would be great if that were true because she is 2 now and I was thinking about trying again.
