So if I breed a calico with a normal con would I get calicos? Then could I line breed to the parents? Want to try this badly to get calico cons. Or would it be half normal half calico or all normal?

It's said that the black gene is dominant over all others so I'm guessing the first generation would be all black and be het(carrying) the calico gene. But I do think if you breed a het calico to a a calico you will get full calico. I haven't gotten that far into the project yet. But once I can I will be trying that and other pairing of different types to see how they turn out first hand.

Hey Doom... I originally bought 6 convicts. 5 were calico and the 6th was a regular female. So I had 2 calico pairs and a reg female paired with a calico male. All the fry from the regular female and the calico male were regular convicts. I had no use for them so I tossed a few of them to a friend. He has 3 of them... 2 are about an inch and the other is about half an inch. I also tossed him the parents and they have some fry that are about 3 weeks old right now. I'll see if I can pair one of the regular babies from the first batch back to one of the parents to help out with this project. I'll keep you updated.

If you pair the babies with the con parent you would still get all cons. If you pair the babies with the marbled parent you would get 50% regular and marbled babies.
