You could use silver dollars? I have big redhooks and they are great.dithers for p bass and even my pangius catfish

I love the idea of congos, but they are SOOO expensive! Same for good looking rainbows. The Australians are decent for color, but the giant danios are blue, which I like more. Yellow is my least favorite color (which is weird because the lemon tetras are cool to me LOL).

Not a huge fan of the silver dollars. Plus I read they are aggressive eaters, which won't work well with current stock as one of my severum and all my festivum are slower eaters.

I would like to keep my dither costs below $40 if possible. Once I save up $100-150, I will probably take the Congo tetra plunge. Love the colors and body shape on those fish.

While I am on a related topic, I plan on breeding some honduran red points and my red head geos. What would be the better dither/target fish to keep a pair strong and not turn on each other?

I think I will stick with the 12-15 lemons for the display tank.

Any thoughts on what would make good dither/target fish for a breeding pair of geo red heads and a breeding pair of honduran red points?

I'd go bleeding hearts over giant danios, not as nervous (so better dithers) and actually are from SA.

Is that for target/dither fish for the breeding pairs or dithers for the main display?

Dithers for the display, you won't need separate target fish since you have a group of geo's. The best target fish are always a member of the same species. And the geos will act as targets for the sev's.
