They would take same lb test line tie different knots and then us a machine to pull them until they broke. The machine recorded the pressure needed to break the knots. Some knots failed at weak lbs but that one beat them all. I use it all the time and I catch big sturgeons alot.

let me know when you figure out how to use a palomar knot as a connector from mono or fluoro to braid haha

Is that what the knot deal was about? I just read the post I quoted...lol don't do that often but that time you caught me...lol

On to the second half...I use a barrel swivel Palomar on each end with each line. Otherwise there is no point to connect the two.

Lmao I was looking it up and looking at a polymer knot and I was like how is this possible to connect two lines lol

The palimer actually got beat in one of the later episodes I saw. I still use it though

You know what beat it? I still have full faith in this knot. I have had hooks and reels fail before the knot.

Palimer is just to easy and exactly like you said ive had hooks bend straight before this knot failed
