black gorilla umbee finally laid eggs

heres a quik look at my f1 bg umbee from chris. there in a 8 footX30 tall X 20 deep tank. its all theres with a chreni that is comming out tomorrow!!! just turned the lights on 1/2 the tank and saw in there cave a beautiful thing. eggs! the fem is protecting them well. she has left 1 time to get a few pellets but the male went in the cave and was hover over the eggs while she was gone. she returned and he left to patrol the tank. im stoked cause they look to be good parents so far and know what there doin. ill wipe the tank down n take some better shots in the am.

Nice man congrats! How big are the parents, can I see some pics? I have a pair thats been acting like a pair but too young to spawn so far. Its confusing to me since once they started acting like a pair, the color of each changed and the larger one that looked male changed to almost white and the smaller drab one that I though was female took on the dark and blue colors of the male. Im hoping your pair can teach me something about my pair.
 
im off fri, sat if ya wanna come check em out. they played color changing tricks on me as well. when i chose the 2 to put in there original tank with divider their colors were reversed as well. when i decided it was time to devote a final home for them with no divider, the colors flip flopped and it was clear within a day. my fem is almost white with red pearling covering the entire head and top of body and has jet black fins. male is blue/red/black and his fin colors are black with a semigreyish blue hugh. i got the tripod out today and charging the camera. im gonna shoot a 15 min vid or so tonight. also going to try some underwater shots. cam shoots in 1080 high deff but still doesnt do them justice. these guys are awesome
 
Thats awesome. From the sounds of things I may have a runt male and a huge female then :( but I should probably just vent them to be sure. Heading out of town this weekend but I'll be waiting for updates

my female outgrew the male as well. but the male still is a mean sob.
