He looks good. His colors seem to have gotten much brighter since you put him in there. I like the gar/goonch combo.

they go postal around 12" please lol i own 6 and they all went crazy not too much larger than yours. Believe me i enjoy watching fish get eatin...but a gator does not trump a goonch

Gar are my fav. Species to keep and ive had them for almost 10 yrs please take my advice. Ive had small gators eat floridas the same length of their body as well as a plethera of other species cats included. There absolute terrors when they hit 12-14". I sold an 8" gator to my friend recently and when he hit 12" it took ahold of his 14" gatf and carried him around the tank in his mouth lol...i soon got the gator back. Itd be a shame to come home to that goonch swimming around in the gators mouth.

I know the gator probably seems placid and well mannered and i always kept mine with other fish, but each one of the 6 i grew out went postal on several of there tankmates even after being fed. I kicked myself every time id walk downstairs and see them thrashing someone. Ive even had them cannibolise similiar sized gators.
