Texas Cichlid aggression problem...

Since I am new to the hobby I have a couple of questions. I bought a Texas Cichlid about 3-4 inches. I was going to throw him in my 55 gallon with my 2 tiger oscars, 6 tinfoil barbs and 2 geos. I did about 2 weeks ago and he ended up killing my baby tiger oscar that was about 2-3 inches a little smaller than him. I didn't notice it at first. All I saw one day was the tiger oscar missing some of his fins. At first I thought it was my bigger oscar which was only about 2 inches bigger. Then when I finally pulled out the baby oscar and tried to save him it was all over. I sat at the 55 gallon tank and watched for about 1hr. I noticed the Texas Cichlid was bully all the fish in there even the Tiger Oscar which was only about inch bigger. So I didn't want any of my other fish to die or get picked on. I put the Texas Cichlid in my 10 Gallon for the time being. Well, since then i have upgraded my tank from a 55 gallon to a 240 gallon. I am almost done transfering my fish from my 55 to the 240.

Now my question is. Will my Texas Cichlid get along with the fish i have in the 240 gallon? Or will I run into aggression problems like I did before? I am thinking about getting a Arowana for my 240. What should I do? Thank for the helphttp://goo.gl/XLb4E

Here's 2 pics of it. Funny thing is when I bought him I told the local lfs guy to get me the jack Dempsey but when my friend saw it he told me it's not a jack Dempsey and showed me a picture of a Texas cichlid. Here's the pic.

He has a mean look to him and since ur Oscar was small.....he became the victim. He will continue to be a terror.....but if you are planning any tankmates. ...make sure bigger and equally aggressive ones , might calm him down.

A 240 with plenty of hiding spots should remedy the situation. Unless he's a total jerk.
 
A 240 gallon is large enough for the Texas, Oscar and numerous other Cichlids. If your Texas was still slaying fish i'd say that he's very exceptional.

With a 55 Cichlid tank, anything goes.
4 feet doesn't allow enough space for the fish to get out of vision from each other.
On top of this, juvenile Oscars aren't very tough as opposed to Texas Cichlids.

If you have good filtration and keep them well fed, you could have a schoal of Cichlids in the 240. Keep in mind, however, the more you have in the tank will reduce the overall aggression, but can also stunt the growth. I would keep the 55 aside and use it for breeding/hospital tank.

Thanks for replying back. I just hope he's not that much of a prick when I do plan on throwing him in my 240 next week. Right now I am running 2 hang on 110 gallon filters but I do plan on getting a fluval fx5 or 6 this month. Then I will throw in a arawona and another geo. Also, I do want to get another 55 gallon cause the one I used to have I am giving to my friend but I want to buy an acrylic 55 gallon just cause they look nice. My be to many tanks to clean cause I already have a 10 gallon for hospital/breeding and a 30 gallon community fish tank for my kids.
