Planning on driving from DC to southern Florida for a week to fish for cichlids can anyone help me with locations and any hotel recommendations around. Would love to catch midas and peacocks for the fun. Thanks in advance

Im not certain, but I believe that midas are more towards the southwest side of florida and peacocks are more towards the east side. But in miami I think you can catch all of them
I went last year caught a ton of exotics, I flew into ft lauderdale stood in Tamarac, fished in Miami, Tamarac and Homestead, caught buttikoferi, peacocks, Uros, Mariae, snakeheads, salvini, managuense various natives and almost an oscar, one of my favorite collecting/fishing trips I ever did.....
