shapeless black arowana

First thing you need to do is get the arowana into its own proper sized tank by itself, add some floating plants. This will help it feel more secure and be less skittish. Keep the water in pristine condition and hope for the best. There have been a couple of deformed baby aros on here that have grown out to look pretty normal.
 
Kinda looks like it got spooked and slammed into the tank wall. All you can do is cover up sides feed and keep up water quality and hope he heals up. Even if doesn't fully repair still a nice fish

I seen a silver aro at this lfs for yrs w/ same injury. Never recovered. Only thing that can fix it is surgery

Two common things I have seen in Silvers are DE and this hump back. Their back is as weak as their eye IMO.
