So a lot has changed in the past year since I gave up my female proteus ( big mistake looking back) But I will have a 75 free in the near future and would like to house either a single nice fish or a pair of smaller pikes... what would you guys suggest/available in the states? I am thinking of trying to find a nice pair of proteus.. but any suggestions where to look/buy? or other pikes to consider the more colorful/loud the better!? the lfs here get small ones but they are generally in poor shape and hard to ID, other then the 50-60% or more are belly crawlers.

Jegui are coolest jacundas that don't get massive. But very rare but worth the wait. Rapps gets them

had to google them.. That is one cool looking fish... I just have enough big fish ( the aba aba is ready for his next tank and hes the littlest big fish we have left) And a pike won't work with my gar so something that going to outgrow the 75 is really what I'm avoiding and I feel the typical lents ect even kept singly are pushing it in that tank. I've seen rapps have some interesting pikes in the past.. I will keep my eye on his list. Thanks!

what about anthurus? they're gorgeous.
I was gonna ask if that'd OK in a 75 for myself (altho I do have a 100+ to fix up), & the ease or difficulty of getting them on pellets.?

I actually saw Rapps had some of these.. but I also saw he had som Regani's.... I'm thinking I might go with those...

I started my other pikes on live blackworms and rosy minnows.. then frozen krill and bloodworms.. then pellets... they really liked the omega brand. they can be picky buggers until they settled in then they slammed anything. they where also in pretty crappy shape when I got them so wanted to bulk 'em up abit before picking that battle.

I had a nice pair of Venny's a few years back when I got my proteus.... until they started maturing and taking pot shots at my other fish... did more research here....I rehomed them quick.

Learned enough to know i'de want some pikes again... but not much else tbh.
