how long does it take for an Endli to fully mature?

my Endli is about 5 months old now. Hes a good 6-7" but still has those amphibian looking things on his head. The left one is almost gone, but the right one is quite large and almost looks like a horn lol. Just wondering how long it takes for them to reach their mature head stage?

It really depends on genetics, water conditions etc..., those are there to catch air until the swim bladder is fully developed
