What's the arowana for me...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
so the farm is ?? what? Fake?

Well considering Cameroon is the mecca for internet scams. Then Alaska, not only in the US where Asian aros are illegal, but has a climate that would make for a not very economical place to run a tropical fish farm. Yeah, I would say that. You could go ahead and send then some money and find out for sure.

We shall be shipping the fish to you from one of our fish farms below.......

Univesa Fish Farm (AlaskaUSA)
Univesa Fish Pond (bali bay Cameroon)

now because of plans, still it's just a draft so I could change any time I may "8x5x3.5" now... basically that's 1000g and you see it would only be 80% full so it's 839.02g, it would be a plywood tank... or would I go for a cement tank? it's elevated like 4 feet

5' is an awkward width for a ply tank as the sheets are usually 4'/1200mm wide.

Why would you want a tank that big 4' off the ground? Not only are you going to need a ladder every time you go to feed them (let alone trying to get in there for maintenance), it is also an awkward height for viewing unless you're planning on standing right in front of it. Seriously consider making the tank lower so you can easily get into it, and so it is a better height for viewing while chilling on a couch or armchair.

It seems to me like you're putting the house before the cart a little, how big is your tank now and how long are you planning to take building this monster tank? Obviously if you're starting with a juvi aro you can keep in in a smaller tank, but best intentions aside big tank builds almost always end up taking longer than you think. It sounds as though you have a lot of decisions to make regarding the tank size and construction method, maybe get a better idea of what you're going to do to house it then start shopping for the aro?

I wish I could have gotten the jar but went with the silver instead because of price and I was always fond of the finnage. But I would say a jar for you bud.

Nahhh, I don't want to be a test rat on this one. :p
Any more farm? We've got a lot of local internet scams in here, so can't trust giving cash with just clicking.

Umm it's on planning stage my friend so I could do any changes, but thanks for the call, the reason why I do want to make it 4feet high is that I Wanna view it elevated as possible, And as I said so in the previous replies, the back of that tank would be a fish room, basically I could construct any steps to accommodate any maintenance issues, it would be constructed along with the house I'm planning so it's all as it is, a plan as of now.
I wouldn't jump of the waters to see myself drowning of stupidity because I went rushing things which should be planned very carefully, no one wants a mess up'd plan, and I don't need or want one. For the Aro I could house them temporarily in a 6x2.5x3 tank which is 135g in my place, and I got 2 of those tanks. And because of that, I may now do it 2-3" in height. :p

Haha tough part on you, Aro's are available as much as ever possible in here. They said that Jars would eventually "has a high risk of aggression" so, sorry no can't do for the jars, I wanna have a community tank as possible.

BTW David R, we've got a lot of lumber-plywood-to any wood, companies running in here, we can just ask sizes of what ever we want. :woot:We just have to pay or we could saw em ourselves, as we constructed rooms in our house last year ago, we had ply's cut down specifically the way we want it. I also would put the sump on it's side and do some 3d backgrounds on it so the fish room will be hidden. I'm also aware such of this this wouldn't pop out a week or two, and it would take months for the construction. I'll be posting some pics of the plan, but I only do have some 3d models through sketch up 8, dunno if it will be available to be posted in here.

Mods? Are 3d images viewable in here?

I've never seen plywood cut down into larger sheets before, but if you've got the coin you could probably get the lumber company to laminate several sheets together (or do it yourself) to get the 5' width you were talking about.

I'm guessing you made a typo (otherwise you might want to check your maths!), 6x2.5x3 is more like 335g than 135g...

^ yep it'a either do it myself or have the friends on the lumbers to do it for me. It's good to have some friends. =) and yeah typo. sorry my bad. And I'm really bad at math. Got some high strips and I only do 80% water fill up to the time, cause of all of my fish are jumpers.

BTW dudefish, of all the tanks you've shown us, is it all your set up?
no not mine just wanted to give you an idea on tanks
