Yeah,I pointed out that we cannot in Pa.I'm not sure how I feel about that provision being part of the law.

Ah I read it wrong. Long day. Personally, I support it 100%. Illegal detention or B/E is those things wether you have a badge or not and one has the basic human right to defend themselves. Maybe then we might see some accountability in police.
I wonder if the police chief wants his job back or if he intends to sue the dirt off of the county for wrongful termination....either way,he should have them by the cojones.
They didn't use the stand your ground law in the Zimmerman case. It was basic self defense

Hello; Being a somewhat new resident of the state of Tennessee USA, I decided to look up the self defense laws here. I just read thru an explaination and am pleased to learn I have no requirement to retreat when threatened wherever I have a legal right to be. That said the TN law is not a opportunity to blaze away with a weapon for trivial reasons. There are serious consequencies for the use of lethal force in the wrong situation.
To those that are against a person having the right of self defense under these type laws, I suggest you consider reading thru the provisions. A read should help clear up what can and cannot be done under these types of defense laws. You may be particulary interested to learn what can happen under the law when someone uses a weapon under the wrong circumstances and especially if an innocent bystander is harmed.
I am satisified that having this type law in my home state is the proper thing, but hope to never have to test it. I do not wish to have to retreat if threatened but do understand that if I ever do have to defend my self there may well be serious issues that follow.

If the story is exactly the way you typed it. Then I say the shooter killed in cold blood. He was sitting in his car never made contact with Daniel. Daniel only made verbal comments to Jude. His story of self-defense doesn't hold up no bat no pipe as claimed found anywhere. Not like Zimmerman self-defense where he had injuries from being beat up. Jude committed murder IMO.
a taco bell employee claims he swung at the car and you could argue that the dog Daniel was walking made him fear bodily harm

So he yelled at the car with his arm in the air so what. Jude didn't say he feared his dog he claimed he had a bat or pipe in his hand.
Interesting national media is not covering this story black guy shoots and kills white guy claims self defense.
