-----HERE IS THE FULL RESCUE STORY OF THE GAR AND SUN CAT-----
In case anybody was wondering, The owner was EXTREMELY nice and him and his wife were knowledgeable about their tanks... they actually had a few tanks themselves... the 30 gallon I got these guys from, a 55 gallon with piranhas, a 20 gallon with axolotls, and a 10 gallon or so with various community fish such as guppies... his wife was sad to see them go but we assured them that they were going to a good home and when my dad showed them a picture of the 300 gallon, they were SO glad and happy that we were taking them! Unfortunately, I made a few mistakes on MY part... luckily everything is OK

Here is the full story. as some of you guys already know, i had contacted this guy about a week or 2 ago about the fish... well, things came up and i ended up going on 2 vacations back to back! first, to the beach for a weekend then a free day the next day and that was when I contacted him about picking them up for the first time... but, it didn't work out unfortunately... so, the next day I went on a 3 day camping trip along the shenendoah river. AMAZING place! the catfish in that river get 3 feet EASILY! also some really good bass, trout, perch, and musky fishing there! we went water tubing along the river and had a great time... But, back to the story of the fish... the next day after I came home from camping, I realized me and my dad had a sorta "free" day after work... (this was yesterday...) So, that Afternoon I texted the seller and he told me that pretty much any time after 6 would be fine... "JACKPOT!" we waited until after rush hour and left at around 8:00... we didn't want to be rude and arrive to late so, I started to rush and i hastily just started throwing my equipment into the van... BAD IDEA! Now, In case any of you guys are noobies on how to properly transport fish via van, then i will explain. When driving with fish in the back you want to make it as stress free on the fish as possible... you need the following: *strap* so the bin doesn't move around or tip, *lid* so the fish don't jump out, and a *battery powered air pump* so the fish have oxygen during transport. Unfortunately, since I was in a hurry, I forgot 2/3 Of these things... :O I forgot a lid and my air pump... I didn't even hit me until we were almost there and at that point I was extremely worried about the fish being transported for an hour and a half... And I also forgot water conditioner... but, the people let me take water directly from their tank so, that saved me for forgetting the conditioner... and of course I just HAD to forget the net... They only had 2 of those tiny little green nets there... the catfish was easy to scoop... i just sandwiched him between the 2 nets... but the gar... well... not so easy.. LOL! I tried the same technique I did with the catfish probably about 20 times an every time the gar would flop out and spaz... at this point i knew that I was in trouble... now, i know that what I did next most people on here probably would not agree with but, it was the only option... once he was sandwiched, i grabbed his mid section and held him until he stopped spazing... let me tell you, those scales are SHARP! when that thing was thrashing, those scales of his just kept cutting me over and over again... but, i finally got him in the bin... we tanked the people chatted a little then left... I promised that I would send pictures of them in the new tank... and, We were off... to prevent jumping we only filled the bin halfway... (it is a 30 gallon bin...) and fortunately, not having the airstone didn't really effect them... I sat in the back just to make sure and it was a bumpy ride LOL! but now, they sre safe and coin well! So, that is the full rescue story of My 2 new wet pet rescues,
Scooter & Jerry GARcia!
