How? Should I use a multi meter in the water around the heater?
She was in the middle of the tank when it happened, nothing electrical around her, also my heaters are eheim.

You don't need any measuring devices or anything to test for a glass heater leak. If its under water and the glass is leaking it will almost certainly have a foggy/steamy look inside the glass. That is unless somehow all the air escaped and it was entirely filled with water, which is unlikely
