hi everybody on mfk.......i was just wondering what the best market fish was to feed to your fish i have a 12 inch silver aro a 11 inch florida gar a 12 inch poly enlli a 8 inch CK and a 5 inch 4 lined cat al getting big enough to feed on market fish aside from the main diet.

Hmmmm it depends a lot of people feed tilapia or market prawn/shrimp to polys. I feed my fish the belly meat from dolphin fish Coryphaena hippurus it's the 1/2 inch thick meat right under the ribs you got to separate the dark meat and underneath is the perfect size I slice it into strips to give it some action in the power heads hope this helps

tilapia, krill, market shrimp, silversides, squid, mussels. Pretty much that's what I get. Dunno for others, you better also avoid oily fish (i.e. tuna) as they lay their oil into the water's surface which will mess up your water parameters.

Cuttlefish? Cheaper then squid around here haha trying to vary my own bichirs diet, right now its mollies, worms, tilapia and freeze dried brine shrimp

I go for tilapia because it was recommended to me on here haha, and its cheap.. I would like to try smelt or silversides

I get mussels, smelt, and i buy the frozen krill that still have the full shape and eyeballs, my bichir goes crazy for those.
