i am confused as ever. they all look great to me. if i had space i would have them all.

asfar as i know and in my experience umbees are quite fragile so to have any umbee living onto old age is a blessing.

Fragile?
Umbees are hardy fish from what I have seen and they are easily capable of living long w/ proper care.
No health issues like those of the haits/beanis

fragile in their own way. I see that Umbees get cold and fungus easier than lots of other cichlids as fry. My first time seeing Umbees at the fish store they were sick fry fungus. They were rotting away..

And I had a batch of them with no heater for a day in the winter room temp and their fins get bunched up and white about to rott. Turn up the heat and next day fins look fine. They are fragile to winter cold I see from those experience.

No, they're very hardy fish. The reason you don't see many at very large sizes is because most people can't properly house umbees for life. Plus just because people might have large tanks doesn't mean they are good fish keepers either:/
