Tested the tank that the fry will be going in because I wanted to transfer the eggs before they ate them again...its been cycling for almost a month and my ammonia is still at 8.0 and 0 nitrite...

Do a water change. A high level of ammonia can be bad for bacteria growth. They can withstand a lot higher levels than fish can, but 8.0 is ridiculously high. Do a 50% water change and continue to cycle.

As for the eggs, just let the parents take care of the first several batches. I know it is hard to just stand back when you are worried the eggs might get eaten, but it will make them better parents. Plus removing the eggs might cause aggression between them.

This tank has been cycling for awhile now with danios and minnows in it...only eeason I wanted to remove the eggs is because they ate the first spawn a couple weeks ago
