Would I have any problems putting a tank the size of the styrofoam on this stand? I figure it would be better to have a ply board image.jpgunder the foam but that is going to leave me with less than an inch from the top of the stand. Ideas?

If the tank is the exact same size as the sheet of foam in the photo (or slightly smaller)...I'm going to say yes there could be a problem. Since from what I'm seeing...the rear two corners of the tank would not be directly supported by the metal stand. The foam sheet (of course) offers no support at all...just insulation.

I would (minimally) use a thick piece of plywood that completely spans the metal cross-members of the stand...before placing the tank on the stand & filling it.

You also didn't mention the dimensions & volume of the tank.

If it is a glass tank with the plastic frame you don't need the foam put down some quality 1/2" plywood that spans the whole self and you are good to go.

Added some ply to the whole length of the stand and the stryo. It leaves me with 3/4 inch until the top of the stand! Thanks for the advice!!!
