(Thinking out load)_

I am starting a new convict breeding project........This is not my first time breeding them.........But this is my first time buying a seperate, brand new tank just for the type of fish.........There is a 40 gallon breeder for $110, and a four foot 65g gallon for $140.......Price is for tank only..............I have long tank stands I used for a 6 foot 125 and another one for a 8 foot 180, and I plan on sharing one of the stands for two tanks side by side...........Most likely I will be buying a second tank for the fry, but right now I see them staying inside with parents because of all the space they willbe having..........

Specs:\
----40g or 65g
----Convict breeder/display tank
----Pea gravel or bare?????
----Aqua Clear 70

I say go with the 65. If and when you get tired of cons there are more options for tank members than a 40 breeder. And you can divide the 65 gallon tank and breed two con pairs

cons would do fine in a 40 for most of their life but I'm sure a pair would prefer the 65. Substrate wise, pfs or pea gravel works fine

65. After your done with cons you can maybe firemouths after?

You check out that SECRET store off of Van Ness???????????They selling breeder sized fiiremouths for $25 a pair..........Very healthy..........Thank you for suggestions everyone.......i will be eyeing the 65 more......I already have two Aqua Clear 110's doing mechanical filtration along side a DIY wet/dry filter on my 125....I might use one of these 110's to help cycle the 65.........For permanent filtration, I decided on an AqauClear 70, and maybe I might add a canister filter(RENA)........... .I decided on no substrate because I hate fry getting trapped up in the gravel........BUT, when I do buy a growout tank(soon) I will place gravel in the main CONVICT display tank.............PEACE
