Post in your opinion the most toughest, meanest, awesome, and badass South American or Central American cichlid there is. So we see who is the ultimate. I'm going to say mine

For its size jack dempsey

Runner up dovii and flowerhorn

Not to be a jerk or anything but there is a long stickied thread about this already. And flowerhorns are hybrids so they really don't fit into either ca or sa designation

Parachromis, and Nandopsis families are the baddest - worst CA/SA cichlids. Then it comes down to individuals.
But Amph family are really tuff and can kick Parachromis and Nans azzes but They can only stay tough till they reach mature adult and fatness.

OP.. Jack Dempseys got their name from a boxer who was the World Heavyweight Champion. The name had a reason. JDs are bad asses but still.... Not if put with Any one of those members as adults

IMO I dont care how mean any CA/SA can be. It can kill any fish all year or whatever but the Dovii can dominate them ALL

that's the correct answer all hobby long.

Micheal Myers vs Jason Friday13th is what I really wonder.

All cichlids can be nasty. But Viejas are one of the weaks because their wouths are small. And they eat Veggies.

All meat eaters are the crazy ones.

LOL

for really. A pair of Doviis do Massacre.

Convicts hands down. They will and can kill almost any cichlid. And even though they are small they will beat the crap out of large fish

I'd say dovii, they get huge and can't really be kept with anything except for similar sized females. At a small size they can be kept with other fish their size but once they get 1 or 2 feet, they just become, killers.
