SA Lungfish And red devil. Doable or recipe for disaster?

Hello,
I have a 75 gallon tank with a solo 7" red devil. I've been reading some stickies and the recommended tank size for a SA lung is 100 gallons.
Could I get away with a 75?
Other online resources say that a SA lung can be kept with other large fish,
So could I put one in with my devil?

I'm currently running an emperor 400 and am working on a DIY drip system.
I know about the huge bioload of these fish I have and am willing to water changes as often as necessary. I'm right now wondering if these two fish could live together without the lung tearing apart my devil.


So yay or nay on a SA lung for me?

How wide is your 75? When those who wrote the sticky say 100gal+, they mean with ideal dimensions, i.e very wide and not very tall.

If your 75 is less than 2' wide, which I'm sure it is, I would not do it.

Wait, just checked the sticky and the dimensions of their 100 gal is 72" by 18" which is 2 feet longer than my tank but still the same width.

If you like your devil don't do it, from what I've heard lungfish take chunks out of other fish. That and a red devil with anything in a 75 usually results in somebody either stressed or outright killed

I use to have a 26 in. SAL with two full grown oscars in a very well filtered 50gal. So technically It is possible. But Red Devils are defferent (very very aggresive) .....

But keep in mind that feeding the SAL With the Devil in the same tank will be somewhat laborious. The SAL is very slow to eat since Midas are very voracious; so You will have to feed the SAL directly into the mouth or provide him a shelter where only he can get to eat in peace.


What size has your SAL right know?.
