Which would cost more in total cost. & electricity than 1 fixture of a longer length? Plus 1 fixture would be easier to level if he does hang it. If you are looking on eBay I've had good luck with a seller that's name is Topdogsellars.

You can save a little on purchase operating costs are dependent on output not the number of fixtures so to say one is cheaper than the other is wrong. Leveling takes 5 minutes and only needs to be done once so its not necessarily an issue. The biggest advvantage and the reason I prefer multiple fixtures is the availability of lamps, 6' lamps have to be ordered 99% of the time.

That is true however the link I provided my info was in reference to LEDs so no 6 lamp purchase is required.
