68 pound striped Bass Lawsuit

Read about this, wanting to see what all happens with it. It is a HUGE striper.

So what was the criteria? The biggest Striper cought on a mustad hook? The freshwater record is 70.6 lbs and the saltwater record is 81.88 lbs. A 68 lb striper unless it's a line class record doesn't qualify for either the Fresh or saltwater record. The IGFA is very sticky on the criteria for records and if it was determined this "homemade" lure violated the rules by modifying the hook or anything else that disqualifies the terminal tackel this guy is SOL.

If this is true
"Ply claims he followed the contest's rules and sent photos of the fish hanging from an approved scale, the lure that he made, his rod and reel, and the 68-pound fish."

Give him his million dollars. But in these contests have tricky loop holes which will void the participant from the contest. Just tricks to promote a brand.

"Hook-a-Million" contest, which offered a $1 million prize for any angler who caught a fish that broke a world record using a Mustad-brand hook . Mustad promoted the contest but is not named as a defendant.

How is a homemade lure even in effect to this contest when it clearly states "who caught a fish that broke a world record using a Mustad-brand hook. He did use a mustard hook. Sounds like they just don't want to pay up.

Oh wow. Biggest striper I landed on the Chesapeake bay was only about 15 lbs and was still a hell of a fight, can't imagine struggling with a near 70 pounder! That's crazy, I'd do the same thing if I really didn't think I violated the rules. And the contest was biggest on the mustard brand hook so the other records wouldn't count
