So I bought this guy when he was 4 inches (hes now 6-7 inches) from petsmart. He was that light yellowish white but now that I have put him in my 120 gallon with Tahitian Moon sand substrate he got dark, real dark in about a matter of 2 weeks, now between his fins he is getting a bright green in the webbing so to speak of his fins check it out. Before and After Its on his tail the picture doesnt pick up all of it.

yup, bichirs blend in with their surroundings.

I know they do but I havent seen a Sene go green before. The picture makes the rest of him look a lot lighter than he is let me try to retake it again.

Edit: The ISO was to high I'm going to drop it down with photoshop so you can see the true colorIMG_20130731_181307_590.jpg

wild senegals do have a good hint of green on them. Once they are captive bred, their genes get worse and worse until you get the regular slight green to bland CB senegals.

well dag nabit I like him either way hahah
IMO if you compare the 2 pics he give you moore of the ancient feel with the black sand IMO. Also what size is your tank/how many pounds of sand are in the tank?
