The Sun is currently on its 11-year solar cycle where the activity on the Sun is at its peak. You are safe, though I cannot say the same for most satellites out there or telecommunication grids here on Earth. The Sun has done this many times during your lifetime and yet here we are. You will enjoy the auroras most specially at this time. The Sun still has 1.1 billion years to evaporate the oceans, about 5.5 billion years before it swallows the Earth and another 700 million years before it dies a slow death as a red giant close 6,000 times as bright as it is today.
