My point exactly, you just have to at times. If it was big enough I would have used a .22 on it my machete probably wouldn't make it through an big RTC with one whack lol

Your gun happy but there is nothing wrong with that. I hate having to put animals down it sucks but it happens. Just the other week I had to put one of my 17year old dogs down just due to the fact he was so old with his medical issues it was the humane thing to do. (NOT WITH A .22 OR ANY OTHER WEAPON) But yea if your fish is suffering and to the point where it can't pull through just get a knife and cut the head off or use clove oil. If you have a monster fish that HUGE you should use this as a excuse to buy a gun or a new gun ;)

I don't have sick fish, either healthy or die of old age rofl but anyways, I still don't flush my fish. I just bury them somewhere on my land.

yeah I wouldn't put down a dog with a gun either, unless the thing got messed up by a wild animal on a hunting trip. I would have had to do that one time if my uncle wasn't quick enough of a shot. a rabid coyote ran at mine and his hunter labs, and he got it quick and I missed ( I was like 12) if that thing got to the labs my uncles always told me if anything like that happens I'm going to be the one who has to finish it because its my dog. thank god that was the closest its ever gotten too haha.

the fish I shot were 3 foot blue catfish, he had already tried it once with a machete and it got messy so that way was much easier. I didn't use a .22 on cichlids I used a pellet gun, because my sister didn't want her fish to die by butcher knife. I wouldn't use a gun on say dogs or cats unless as stated they had massive injury and I wouldn't want my pet to bleed out in front of me still alive.

I've grown up around guns, I usually go shooting (targets, not much of a small game hunter just some deer n turkey) once a month, I grew up with hunters and outdoorsman (family and friends) so I may be quicker to go to a gun as the solution then others. I do much prefer shooting/hunting with a bow though. takes more skill, meat tastes better.

JUST SAYING I'm no NRA freak gun nut and was pissed when the legislature didn't pass that background checks act. I enjoy shooting games of skill (sharpshooting, small target shooting etc)

This thread is insane. These thread never stay on topic, but we have people actually talking about putting fish kept in home aquaria down using firearms. I typically use a very intricate pulley system and lift a vintage piano really high and then drop it onto the head of my ailing fish. Or if my back is bothering me I use my katana that has Randy Jackson's autograph and make quick work of them Bushido style, to me these are the only acceptable forms of fish euthanasia!

Lol, what concerns me is there has been more fish in this thread shot through the brain, then all the half dead fish Ive ever flushed :screwy: yet I'm the one referred to as a prick

If it makes you feel any better I'm a keyboard tough guy apparently, I just found and now I have to somehow tell my wife she needs to be tested. This whole process has been so embarrassing.

you are a prick if you flush anything alive down the toilet no matter if its half dead or not. and the only fish shot were giant catfish which was the best way to put them out of their misery. so keep reassuring yourself your good a good person for putting live fish in **** and piss. you guys just don't have the guts to finish it off before flushing it.

the point of all my posts is this: if you put live animals fish or not in your own fecies and piss, flopping half dead in the dark, you have no buisness owning animals. because you clearly don't care enough to properly euthanize. typical american laziness. fish were shot were shot because that was the best solution (giant blue catfish) to euthenize them, if that touched upon some gun sensibility then oh well. and the cichlids were shot with a bb gun because my sister wanted to bury them and didn't want to bury headless fish.
